Cold Weapons Found on Participant of Protest; Arrest Made, Investigative Committee Reports

On September 20, during a mass gathering in front of the Government building at the Republic Square, police officers discovered cold weapons on one of the participants, a 67-year-old man, who had previously been convicted for numerous thefts.

The Investigative Committee reports that the individual has been arrested on suspicions of carrying illegal weapons.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 334 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. An investigation is underway.

It is also noteworthy that on September 19, three other participants of the mass gathering were arrested on suspicions of illegally carrying cold weapons.
