Armenia Opposes the Opening of the 'Zangezur Corridor' and Will Continue to Do So, Marukyan Responds to Erdogan

The Republic of Armenia has no obligation to open the 'Zangezur Corridor'. This was stated by Armenia's special envoy Edmon Marukyan during a broadcast on Public Television today, responding to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's remarks.

Earlier today, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, President Erdogan expressed hope that Yerevan would fulfill its obligations regarding the opening of the 'Zangezur Corridor'.

Marukyan assured that discussions about the 'Zangezur Corridor', which have been artificially introduced into circulation, cannot be progressed as a legitimate demand. "Armenia did not assume such an obligation under the November 9 document; it only mentioned the opening of communications, and Armenia is ready for that," he said.

Regarding the discussions about the opening of the 'Zangezur Corridor', Edmon Marukyan confirmed that Armenia has been against it and will continue to oppose it.
