Cargo Transportation to Artsakh Does Not End the Blockade: Balayan
The cargo transportation via the Aghdam route cannot be viewed as the opening of the Lachin corridor, meaning it does not fulfill the necessity of lifting the blockade as outlined in the ruling of the International Court of Justice of the United Nations. This was stated by Tigran Balayan, Armenia’s Ambassador to Belgium, on his X page.
"This is not seen as the removal of the illegal blockade of Artsakh by Aliyev's authoritarian regime. On the contrary, today’s supply is an intensification of the sadistic blockade that has been ongoing for nine months," he wrote.
It should be noted that yesterday, on September 17, it became known that the authorities of Artsakh decided to allow the transportation of humanitarian cargo via the Aghavno-Stepanakert road, emphasizing that this concerns the simultaneous transportation of humanitarian cargo of foreign origin through Berdzor corridor and the Goris-Stepanakert highway, using vehicles of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Footage has also been published showing the transportation of humanitarian cargo to Artsakh.
