Poland Bans Entry of Passenger Cars Registered in Russia, Says Kaminski

Poland will ban the entry of passenger cars registered in Russia starting this Sunday. This was announced to reporters by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Mariusz Kaminski.

“In connection with the publication of the European Commission’s proposals on September 8 regarding the ban on the entry of vehicles registered in Russia into EU territory, this ban will come into effect at the Polish border from tomorrow and will be enforced starting from midnight today,” said Kaminski.

The European Commission clarified on September 8 that the sanctions imposed against Russia by the EU Council back in 2022 also extend to personal vehicles of Russian citizens that have Russian registration plates. Consequently, Russian citizens will not be able to enter the European Union with personal vehicles, even for tourism purposes and even for a short duration.
