Hripsime Khurshetdyan Finishes 6th, Tatev Hakobyan 5th at Weightlifting World Championships
Members of the Armenian women's weightlifting team, Tatev Hakobyan and Hripsime Khurshetdyan, started their competition at the World Championships. According to Armenpress, the event is currently taking place in Saudi Arabia with the women competing in the 87 kg weight category.
Hripsime Khurshetdyan of the Armenian team lifted 105 kg in the snatch and 130 kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 235 kg, which placed her in 6th position. In the same weight category, Tatev Hakobyan lifted 105 kg in the snatch and managed to hold 132 kg overhead in the clean and jerk, finishing with a total of 237 kg, securing the 5th place.
Prior to this, Gour Sahakyan had won a bronze medal for Armenia at the World Championships, while Andranik Karapetyan secured a small gold medal, Rafik Harutyunyan earned a small bronze medal, and Garik Karapetyan achieved a small silver medal.
