Video: Only Electric Vehicles to Be Acquired for Yerevan's Patrol Police
The perception of electric vehicles is growing in Armenia, and that is good news. This was announced today, September 14, by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.
“Yerevan's patrol police are already using electric vehicles. The first electric bus has taken to the streets in Yerevan. We have agreed that in the future, only electric vehicles will be purchased for the Yerevan patrol police. We will also experiment with this in the regions later on. Currently, there are difficulties related to charging because there are devices that can fully charge batteries very quickly, in 30-40 minutes. Today, our citizens mainly charge from home outlets at night, which takes much longer. The market will certainly regulate this issue,” emphasized Pashinyan.
It is noted that during 2021-2022, 100 charging stations were installed and are currently in operation across the country, allowing for the simultaneous charging of 150 electric vehicles.
Moreover, the government recently approved a project that proposes to extend the exemption from value-added tax for electric vehicle imports and disposals for another year.
