Hajiyev Responds to Menendez's Statement on Artsakh Blockade

The Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, has responded to U.S. Senator and Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Bob Menendez.

"Instead of addressing serious corruption allegations, Congressman Menendez is lying to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with false information and a doctored photo. The person depicted in the photo has died of cancer. Armenians themselves are embarrassed to use such blatant falsehoods after presenting medical evidence. Such lobbying, the 'money talks' approach, blatant lies, and racist hatred against Azerbaijanis damage the image and global credibility of the U.S. Congress," noted Hikmet Hajiyev.

It should be recalled that Menendez warned during a Senate meeting yesterday that the blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan bears all the hallmarks of genocide. He presented images of the first victim of starvation in Artsakh and emphasized that the Azerbaijani regime is committing genocide against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.
