Poland's Prime Minister Sends Ultimatum to EU to Ban Ukrainian Grain Imports
Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has announced that he has sent an ultimatum to the European Commission to extend the ban on imports of Ukrainian grain. He stated, “I sent an ultimatum to the European Commission, clearly demanding that either you extend the ban on the import of four types of Ukrainian grain by September 15, or we will extend the ban ourselves, as we cannot agree to harm the Polish market,” he emphasized.
According to the politician, Warsaw aims to create conditions that will be suitable for both Ukraine and Poland, but the security of local farmers is a priority. Last week, Morawiecki stated that regardless of the European Commission's decision, the republic would extend the ban on importing grain from Ukraine while maintaining transit rights.
