Russia Is Not Afraid of Losing an Ally in Armenia, Says Peskov
Mariam Z.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has commented on Armenian-Russian relations, the US-Armenia peacekeeping exercises, and the current tensions between Armenia and Russia.
Peskov specifically stated, "Russia is not afraid of losing an ally in the form of Armenia. Moscow and Yerevan continue to remain close. Russia has been and remains a friend of Armenia, and the existing issues should be resolved through dialogue. Russia sees no official signals regarding Armenia's desire to withdraw from the CSTO; there are only arguments from Western-oriented analysts. Through partner dialogue with Armenia, Russia will attempt to understand why Yerevan needs joint exercises with the United States."
