Moscow Expects the Lachin Corridor to Be Unblocked Alongside the Aghdam Route - Zakharova

Moscow expects that the Lachin corridor will be unblocked alongside the Aghdam route. This statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, while addressing the Russian humanitarian aid provided to the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to her, the Russian side is taking consistent steps to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. She stated, ‘During the tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow on July 25, a scheme for the simultaneous unblocking of the Lachin and Aghdam routes was developed with the cooperation of all interested parties within the framework of the initiative proposed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Considering the significant discrepancies in positions and the high level of mutual distrust, this work was not progressing easily.’
