Where Are Mane Tandilyan's Sons?
During this pre-election period, it has been reported on various platforms that Mane Tandilyan, the president of the "Living Land" party and the candidate for mayor from the party in the Yerevan city council elections, has sons who do not reside in Armenia. According to media reports, Tandilyan has "taken them out of the country" in order to "exempt them from the army." This was reported by the "Fact" newspaper.
Representatives from the party have clarified multiple times that Mane Tandilyan's sons are temporarily studying abroad. Additionally, the press secretary of the "Living Land" party, Hripsime Hovhannisyan, told one media outlet that they "will return to Armenia after completing their studies and will proceed with mandatory military service as stipulated by law."
So, where are Tandilyan's children actually studying? According to information from the "Fact" newspaper, they are Armenian citizens currently studying at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. Incidentally, this is one of the world's best universities, boasting impressive metrics in major ranking tables, including QS and Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. The university has approximately 25,000 students, of which about 8,500 are international students.
