Peskov Again Comments on Armenian-American Joint Military Exercises
The conduct of military exercises between Armenia and the United States does not contribute to stabilizing the situation in the region and strengthening mutual trust, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“First of all, the conduct of such exercises in this context does not contribute to the stabilization of the situation. In any case, it does not contribute to strengthening the atmosphere of mutual trust in the region. Russia continues to carry out its functions as a guarantor of security, and Russia continues to work thoroughly, consistently, and constructively with both Yerevan and Baku,” Peskov stated in response to questions about the Kremlin's concerns related to Azerbaijan's troop deployments on the state border amidst the upcoming Armenian-American military exercises.
It was previously reported that as part of preparing for participation in international peacekeeping missions, the Armenian-American joint military exercise “ARARAT PARTNER-2023” will be held from September 11-20 in Armenia at the Ministry of Defense’s Peacekeeping Brigade “Zar” training center and another training center of the Ministry of Defense.
