Disagreements and Discussions Happen, It Cannot Be Interpreted as Tension with Russia – Deputy Foreign Minister

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Paruir Hovhannisyan, asserts that disagreements occur with all partners, but this does not mean that it should be interpreted as tension. He made this statement during a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly when responding to a question about the recent tensions in relations with Russia.

“We have working relations with Russia, just as we do with our other partners. Disagreements and discussions do not mean that this can be interpreted as tension. Discussions on various issues are ongoing in a working manner,” said Paruir Hovhannisyan.

When asked if Armenia is currently considering leaving the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the deputy minister replied: “You know how announcements on this issue have been progressing; we have addressed this matter. We criticize the CSTO on several issues, but this issue is not on our agenda at the moment.”
