PHOTOS: Major Fire Erupts in the Hrazdan Gorge

A major fire broke out today in Yerevan, as reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to the website, the prompt actions of firefighters and patrol units managed to save a large number of trees in the Hrazdan gorge; otherwise, an entire area would have turned into a pile of ashes.

Firefighters battled the blaze for more than two hours. It has been noted that the fire and smoke were visible from several hundred meters away. The website also reported that firefighters were able to prevent the spread of the fire, but in quite inaccessible areas, they had to extinguish it manually and with specialized equipment.
