Former Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Caused Over 3 Billion AMD in Damage to Yerevan's Budget
According to the investigation initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, sufficient evidence has been obtained regarding V.N., who, while serving as the deputy mayor of Yerevan, abused his official powers arising from personal interests and group benefits. He improperly evaluated the applications of participating companies for the procurement of waste collection and sanitation services in the western and eastern parts of Yerevan, despite their failure to meet the qualification criteria announced in the organized tenders, resulting in significant damage to the Yerevan community.
In particular, the mentioned companies were unable to provide the services stipulated in the contracts due to a lack of technical, financial, professional, and operational resources. However, the Yerevan City Hall paid particularly large sums amounting to over 3,002,486,270 AMD for inadequate, unsatisfactory, and in some cases, non-delivered services.
