VIDEO: One Dead and One Missing Due to Floods in Central Greece
Heavy rains in central Greece have caused flooding, resulting in one death and one person missing.
The cities of Volos and several neighboring areas have been severely affected, with hundreds of homes and roads submerged. The police in Volos have prohibited vehicle traffic on the city streets due to dangerous weather conditions and have urged residents to stay indoors.
It is noteworthy that thunderstorms began in Greece on the evening of September 4, lasting approximately 10 hours. Meteorologists are warning that poor weather conditions will persist in the country over the coming days. It is also expected that rainfall on September 5 and 6 will reach about 650-700 mm in central Greece.
