Network Discovered Recruiting Cuban Citizens for Participation in War by Russia

The Cuban authorities have announced the discovery of a network that has been recruiting Cuban citizens for participation in the war on behalf of Russia. The statement from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs was conveyed by the Russian service of the BBC.

“The Ministry of the Interior has identified and is working to neutralize and dismantle the network operating from Russia, aimed at recruiting Cuban citizens residing there and even some Cubans participating in the armed forces involved in military operations in Ukraine. Such attempts have been thwarted, and criminal cases have been opened against individuals engaged in this activity,” the communiqué states.

The ministry also noted that Cuba's enemies are trying to tarnish the country's reputation and present it as complicit in actions that it categorically rejects.

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that Russian authorities have yet to comment on this statement.
