Celebrating September 1: Sotk Municipal Leader Addresses Gunfire Incidents

Despite the gunfire, we are celebrating September 1 in Sotk at an appropriate level. This was stated by Sevak Khachatryan, the head of the Sotk administrative district of the Gegharkunik Province, in an interview with Tert.am.

According to him, everything is normal; the gunfire is distant, and the village is going about its daily life.

"Everything is fine. I am currently at school, and the children are also at school; we are celebrating September 1," he reported.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, after spreading disinformation on August 31 to create an informational basis for another provocation, opened intensive fire towards Armenian positions located in Sotk starting at 07:50 am on September 1. As a result, the Armenian side has reported 2 fatalities and 1 injury.

Later, the Ministry of Defense reported that by 11:20 am, the intensity of Azerbaijani fire towards the Armenian positions in the Sotk area had decreased.
