Whoever Leaves, May Leave in Peace: Beglaryan on Mass Emigration in Artsakh

Whoever leaves, may leave in peace, but should not in any way encourage the mass emigration trend. This was stated by Artak Beglaryan, advisor to the Prime Minister of Artsakh, on his Facebook page.

“Dear compatriots, I simply ask, urge, and even demand not to give in to the agenda of ‘mass evacuation of the people of Artsakh’ that has long been propagated in the information space by Azerbaijani and certain other external forces and not to disseminate similar materials and calls. This is not a solution to the current situation; it is a flight from the homeland and a neglect of the national, civil, and human responsibility towards past, present, and future generations. The main desire of the genocidal regime in Azerbaijan is precisely this: to push us into mass emigration at the lowest possible cost, thereby shifting the responsibility for genocide onto us.

The only agenda for the people of Artsakh should be to live and fight in Artsakh, as our ancestors did in various eras. Every individual and family has the right to make decisions about their own fate: whoever leaves, may leave in peace, but should not in any way encourage the mass emigration trend. No matter how heavy the sacrifices and difficulties may be, there are always ways to fight for living freely and with dignity in your own homeland,” he wrote.

Beglaryan also added that he had avoided addressing this topic for a long time, but felt compelled to publicly speak about the unacceptability of circulating it in the context of recent informational trends.
