India Decides to Change Its Name, The Economic Times
The Indian government is set to change the country's official name, reverting to its former designation of 'Bharat'. This was reported by the Indian publication The Economic Times.
According to the report, a relevant resolution may be presented at an extraordinary session of Parliament scheduled to take place from September 18 to 22.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh confirmed that official invitations for the G20 dinner have been sent in the name of the 'President of Bharat' instead of the usual 'President of India'.
'This information is indeed true,' he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
