Julya
The European Union plans to take advantage of the absence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit scheduled in India this September to reassess its partnership with Africa. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing its sources.
“European members of the G20 want to enhance engagement with southern countries through high-level meetings with African leaders during the summit,” the agency reports.
According to Bloomberg's sources, the EU hopes to leverage the absence of Putin and Xi to demonstrate that it is “seriously committed to reassessing its partnership with Africa, despite the difficult legacy of colonialism.”
