Aliyev Discusses Opening of Aghdam-Stepanakert Road with Russian Special Representative

Azerbaijani media report that Ilham Aliyev met today with Igor Khovaev, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.

It is noted that during the meeting, the current situation in the region and the opening of the Aghdam-Stepanakert and Lachin-Stepanakert roads were discussed.

The President of Azerbaijan stated, “The Armenians of Karabakh refuse to hold discussions on reintegration in Azerbaijan.”

Khovaev declared that Russia will continue its efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and to ensure stable peace in the region.
