The United States must adhere to international norms and abandon the "Cold War" mentality in its relations with Asian countries. This statement was made during a press briefing by Mao Ning, a spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry.
"In its relations with countries in the Asian region, the United States should abandon the zero-sum Cold War mentality, follow the norms of international relations, avoid targeting third parties, and not harm regional peace and stability," the spokesperson emphasized.
Earlier, it was reported that U.S. President Biden is set to visit Hanoi on September 10 to hold talks with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. According to Politico, the American leader intends to sign an agreement on bilateral "strategic partnership" during his visit to Vietnam. The publication believes that this move aims to "bring Hanoi closer to Washington in the context of rising tensions with Beijing."
