Changes Made to Wheat Acceptance Rules to Alleviate Bread Issues in Artsakh

The Artsakh Republic Agricultural and Farm Support Foundation has announced: "Dear farmers, due to the shortage of flour in the republic, a bread issue has arisen. To alleviate this situation, changes have been made to the wheat acceptance rules. Specifically, the Foundation will accept wheat at a price of 250 drams per kilogram. Additionally, farmers who deliver wheat will have the opportunity to purchase flour in an amount equal to 20% of the wheat they delivered, priced at 13,000 drams per sack.

It should also be noted that there will be no offset against the value of the delivered wheat for obligations owed to the Foundation. At the same time, we inform you that moving forward, the mills operating in the republic will impose restrictions due to the created situation, and wheat owned by individuals will most likely not be processed. This depends on how understanding the farmers will be towards the created situation and how much wheat can be harvested.

Of course, this approach may lead to dissatisfaction; however, there is no other option to address the problem than to regulate the mills' operations at the state level. Dear farmers, we kindly ask you to understand and sell your stored wheat to the Foundation so that we can overcome the emerging crisis together as soon as possible. The struggle is not only in war; this is also a fight, from which we can emerge victorious only through our unity."
