Surgery of Surviving Soldier Successful, But Condition Extremely Critical: MoD Spokesperson

Narek Poghosyan has been transferred to the Central Military Hospital and has undergone a complex surgical intervention. The information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, Aram Torosyan.

It has been reported that Narek Karen Poghosyan was initially listed among those killed due to Azerbaijani aggression on September 1, but doctors managed to save him through intensive resuscitation efforts; his heart rate has been restored.

“The surgery was successful, but his condition is still assessed as extremely critical, while the condition of the other injured soldier is evaluated as moderate; at this moment, there is no threat to life,” stated the MoD spokesperson.

Torosyan added that both injured soldiers are under the supervision of the hospital medical staff.

We would like to remind that starting from 07:50 on September 1, the Azerbaijani armed forces opened intensive fire towards the Armenian positions located in the Sotk and Norabak communities of the Gegharkunik region. Azerbaijan also used mortars and drones. The Armenian side suffered 3 fatalities and 2 injuries.
