Germany's Nuclear Energy Debate is Over, Says Scholz
Germany will not resume the use of nuclear energy, instead focusing on investments in renewable energy sources. This announcement was made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as reported by Interfax.
“The topic of nuclear energy in Germany is closed. Anyone who wants to build a new nuclear power plant must consider that it will take 15 years, and each plant will cost between 15 to 20 billion euros,” Scholz stated.
According to him, with the cessation of nuclear energy use in Germany, the dismantling of the relevant infrastructure has begun, and the dual use of this type of energy would require new nuclear plants. Scholz added that Germany’s future energy needs will be met through renewable sources, including solar and wind energy.
