Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense Statement Has No Relation to Reality, Artsakh Defense Army

The Artsakh Defense Army has stated that it did not subject the GPS systems of civilian aircraft flying along the Paris–Beijing and Tel Aviv–Baku routes to jamming. This information was released by the press service of the Defense Army, refuting the latest disinformation spread by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense.

According to the Azerbaijani side, the relevant units of the Defense Army allegedly jammed the systems of aircraft flying along the aforementioned routes over Artsakh on September 1, during the time periods of 11:15–11:36 and 13:30–13:58.

“The statement from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has no connection to reality. As we have repeatedly stated before, the aircraft flying along those routes do not cross the air borders of the Republic of Artsakh. It is also important to note that no company or country operating the supposedly jammed aircraft has ever submitted a complaint in this regard,” the statement emphasized.

The Defense Army is confident that Azerbaijan’s aim is to divert the international community's attention from the humanitarian disaster caused by the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor through such false statements. Additionally, Azerbaijan is preparing an informational basis for another provocation.

It is also noted that there was heightened tension in the Gegharkunik province since early yesterday morning, with Azerbaijani armed forces opening fire from mortars and other firearms towards the Armenian positions located in Sotk and Norabak. The Ministry of Defense reported 3 fatalities and 2 injuries.
