Intensive Gunfire Reported in Sotk and Norabak Areas

On September 1, the Office of the Human Rights Defender received reports of intense gunfire directed towards Armenian positions located in the Sotk and Norabak areas of Gegharkunik Province, launched by Azerbaijani armed forces. This was announced by the Human Rights Defender’s Office.

The Office is conducting constant monitoring and collecting evidence, after which the Defender will issue a further statement.

At the same time, the Defender emphasizes that the aggressive behavior of the Azerbaijani armed forces grossly violates the principles of international law, posing a real danger to the right to life and safety of civilians, as well as the provision of other fundamental rights.

Additionally, the Ministry of Defense reports that the adversary continues to fire from small arms and mortars towards the Sotk and Norabak areas.
