Identity of Beslan School Terrorist Revealed 19 Years Later in Russia

In Russia, investigators have identified the identity of the "number 11 terrorist," one of five terrorists whose bodies could not be identified in 2004. According to law enforcement data, this is Aslanbek Parchiev, originally from Ingushetia, who participated in the terrorist act at Beslan's School No. 1.

"This individual appeared in the documents related to the horrific terrorist act in Beslan 19 years ago as 'number 11 terrorist'. His fingerprints match those of Aslanbek Parchiev, who was arrested two years prior to the tragedy in Moscow for a minor violation," reports Izvestia, citing security officials.

The conclusions of the investigation were confirmed through a DNA analysis taken from the soldier's relatives. He was also recognized by the only surviving militant, Nurpasha Kulayev, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

On the third day of the operation, at 13:05, explosions occurred in the school gymnasium, resulting in a fire. This fire partially destroyed the building. After the initial explosions, hostages began to flee the school, and the Federal Security Service of Russia initiated an assault. In the chaotic crossfire, including from civilians using personal firearms, 28 terrorists were killed (three of whom, including a female suicide bomber, were killed between September 1-2). A total of 318 hostages were killed in the attack, including 186 children.
