Youths Abducted by Azerbaijanis Detained

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has reported that "Armenian football players have been arrested" at an illegal border checkpoint in Lachin.

"A criminal case was initiated against them back in 2021 for committing offensive acts against the flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Subsequently, international warrants were issued for Armenian citizens Alen Sargsyan, Vahe Hovsepyan, and Levon Grigoryan. Based on a court ruling, detention as a preventive measure has been chosen against them. They were apprehended today as a result of search efforts.

During interrogation, they confessed to everything and expressed sincere remorse. Considering the age of the accused and their genuine regret, criminal prosecution has been halted against them. At the same time, by court order, administrative arrest for 10 days has been imposed on them for distributing a video insulting the Azerbaijan flag. After the court's decision is executed, their expulsion from Azerbaijan will be ensured," the Prosecutor General's Office stated, according to Azerbaijani media reports.
