Car Explosion and Fire in Yerevan: One Injured

A fire in a vehicle has resulted in an injury. On August 31, at 23:44, the National Crisis Management Center received a report of a car explosion, which was accompanied by a fire, near building number 32 on Kocharyan Street in Yerevan.

A firefighting unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Yerevan was dispatched to the scene. It was found that the fire had started in a parked Kia vehicle (driver: V.G.) near building number 32 on Gay Street; no traces of an explosion were found.

The fire was contained at 23:54 and extinguished by 23:57. The interior of the vehicle had burned. The driver was hospitalized with burns at the National Burn Center.

The rescuers disconnected the vehicle from electricity and closed the valve of the gas cylinder.
