Bread Production in Armenia Decreases While Pasta Output Increases, Says 'Zhoghovurd'

'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: 'Bread production volumes in Armenia have decreased. According to information obtained by the newspaper from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, 128,167.2 tons of bread have been produced in the first seven months of this year. This figure is a 2.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. However, flour production has increased by 3.1%. In the first seven months, 89,827.1 tons of flour were produced, while in the same period of 2022, 87,108.2 tons were produced.

Alongside these figures, pasta and grain production has also risen. In the first seven months of this year, pasta production has increased by 1.1%, and the production volumes of cereals have also grown. In the January-July period, 902.2 tons of cereals have been produced, marking a 2.6% increase compared to the same period last year.

This is an interesting statistic in the sense that while citizens from Russia and Ukraine have changed the demographic statistics in Armenia, bread production has declined, because they do not consume as much bread as Armenians do.' More details are available in today's newspaper issue.
