Lachin Corridor Opening Could Happen in the Coming Days, Hajiyev
Armenia's Lachin corridor, which connects to Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), could be opened in the coming days. This was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, during a conversation with reporters.
He noted that the opening of the Aghdam (Aknagh) - Stepanakert road has been reflected in relevant statements. According to him, the Armenian leadership accepted the possibility of this usage during the meetings held in Brussels.
“As another component of this process, the opening of the Lachin road is expected in the coming days, meaning within certain conditional timeframes. The factor of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity is very important regarding the opening of the Lachin road. At the same time, this must take place under the condition of compliance with our country’s laws and the relevant legal frameworks concerning border control, as well as customs regime rules,” Hajiyev's statements were quoted by RIA Novosti.
