French Ambassador Summoned by Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Over Humanitarian Aid to Artsakh
The French ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ann Bouayon, has been summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry due to humanitarian aid sent to Artsakh. Azerbaijani media report, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the statement from Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry, the ambassador was presented with a note of protest regarding the dispatch of vehicles from several French cities, including Paris under the direction of Mayor Anne Hidalgo, towards the Lachin border crossing under the name of a “humanitarian cargo,” as well as concerning provocative statements made by these individuals against Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani side's statement also emphasizes that “France must cease any actions that threaten Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity as defined by international law, which jeopardize the fragile process of resolution encouraged by the active efforts of international players in the region.”
Earlier, it was reported that Azerbaijan has blocked the entry of humanitarian cargo sent from several regions of France to Artsakh.
