Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Responds to Pashinyan's Statement
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has urged Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to adopt a more constructive stance in the negotiations over a peace treaty.
The Foreign Ministry expressed hope that the Armenian side would properly assess the realities formed in the region during the post-conflict period and adopt a constructive position in the peace negotiations with Azerbaijan.
The ministry also called on Pashinyan to support the "reintegration policy" for the Armenian population living in Artsakh.
Earlier, Pashinyan stated in a government meeting that it is still impossible to deliver humanitarian aid to Artsakh. According to Pashinyan, "Azerbaijan plans to unilaterally open the Lachin corridor in the most acute phase of the humanitarian crisis, allowing people to leave and preventing their return."
In turn, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry noted that "all conditions are currently in place for the movement of the Armenian population in both directions through the Lachin border checkpoint."
