Soldier Threatening to Detonate Grenade Found Dead in Ufa Detention Center
A soldier who threatened to detonate a grenade on the highway near a gas station in early August has been found dead in a detention center in Ufa. He surrendered after the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, promised to help him. Preliminary information suggests that he committed suicide, according to KP-Ufa, referencing a source close to the investigation.
According to the 112 Telegram channel, the body of 39-year-old Ildar Bulatov was discovered in his cell, prompting the Investigative Committee to launch an inquiry. The Baza publication clarifies that the incident took place in Ufa’s No. 1 investigative detention center.
Oleg Galin, president of the Public Monitoring Commission of Bashkiria, also confirmed in a conversation with TASS that the soldier committed suicide in the detention center. "According to surveillance camera recordings, it is clear that no one came near him; he was not taken out of the cell," he emphasized.
The UFA1.ru portal reports that the man was a contract serviceman in the Ukrainian conflict zone as part of the Bashkir battalion named after Russian hero Alexander Dostavalov. He went there as a volunteer and later left his unit in the Rostov region without permission. A criminal case has been initiated against him.
