SATMC Urges Strict Compliance with Food Safety for School Supplies

Considering the start of the academic year, the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia urges directors of general education institutions to strictly adhere to the requirements of the current legislation regarding food supplies, as well as to follow sanitary and hygienic norms in food preparation.

Accordingly, it is essential to accept food products only when there are accompanying documents confirming their safety, to monitor the expiration dates and storage conditions established by the manufacturers, and to avoid the use of products of unknown origin (without labeling), products with incomplete labeling, or expired food items. Additionally, it is critical that members of the staff who handle food undergo regular medical examinations as mandated by law and possess valid sanitary passports.

In case of issues arising related to food safety in general education institutions, it is possible to contact the Inspectorate through their toll-free hotline at 118.
