No Flights from Yerevan to Kapan and Kapan to Yerevan: What's the Reason?
Last week, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan assured that Kapan Airport would operate regularly from now on, with flights between Yerevan and Kapan and vice versa. However, the flights have not taken place.
Officially, the reason cited is weather conditions, but sources from the newspaper 'Hraparak' indicate that due to security concerns, passengers who purchased tickets are returning them.
It is worth noting that the Prime Minister's delegation traveled to Syunik by helicopter, and the next day, Azerbaijanis fired shots at the airport. According to some reports, gunfire has been heard almost daily in the communities near the airport since Pashinyan's visit.
Additionally, it was planned that Anna Hakobyan would return from Kapan to Yerevan on a flight scheduled for August 28; however, according to some sources, she traveled to Yerevan by car early in the morning.
