Increase in 'Gold' License Plates in Armenia

A new category of license plates will be introduced in Armenia, which will be sold through auctions. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, David Ghambaryan, during the discussion of the second and final reading of the draft law on amendments to the 'Ensuring Road Traffic Safety' law at an extraordinary meeting of the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security on August 29.

At the same time, the auctions will be held exclusively in electronic form. The logic will be the same as for the current license plates. "That is, there will not be only signs composed of letters or numbers. The entire question will be solely about their combinations," the deputy minister clarified.

The rules for organizing the auctions and the starting prices for the license plates will be set by a separate government decision.
