Trump Raises $7.1 Million Through Photo and Arrest: Politico

The former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has turned his booking photo taken in Georgia into a record-breaking fundraising opportunity. This was reported by Politico.

On Thursday evening, after his incarceration in Atlanta, the former president raised $7.1 million, according to data first provided to Politico by his campaign team. According to a source familiar with the results, Trump raised $4.18 million just on Friday, making that 24-hour period the highest earning point in his entire campaign to date.

The fundraising efforts have been supported through the sale of merchandise from his online store. Following his arrest, the campaign began selling t-shirts, posters, bumper stickers, and drink coolers featuring Trump’s scowling face. The products carry the slogan “NEVER BACK DOWN,” with prices ranging from $12 to $34.

The team also encouraged online donors to send emails and text messages. Furthermore, on Thursday evening, returning from Atlanta to Bedminster, Trump posted his first tweet in over two years, directing supporters to his website. The site features his booking photo along with a message urging supporters to “have your say in removing the fraud Joe Biden from the White House and saving AMERICA during this dark chapter in our nation’s history.”

Trump's campaign team claims that in the last three weeks, since he was indicted for his alleged involvement in the January 6th Capitol riots and attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, they have raised nearly $20 million. This amount is more than Trump raised in the first seven months of the 2024 presidential race.

Private, non-political organizations have also attempted to turn this booking photo into a financial opportunity.
