Four Azerbaijanis Arrested in Russia for Fatal Brawl; Criminal Charges Filed
Four Azerbaijani individuals have been charged in connection with the assault of three residents from Sharypovo, located in Russia's Krasnoyarsk region.
On August 26, law enforcement received reports of a 30-year-old man's body being discovered and a married couple being hospitalized with varying degrees of injuries in the 6th microdistrict of Sharypovo.
According to the statement from the investigative department, three criminal cases have been initiated against the four Azerbaijanis. Depending on their roles, they are suspected of murder, intentionally causing severe harm to health, and hooliganism. The criminal cases have been consolidated into one proceeding.
The preliminary investigation suggests that around 5 AM on Saturday, a verbal altercation broke out between three foreign nationals and three local residents on the street of the 6th microdistrict of the city.
"The suspects, under the influence of alcohol, made advances towards a passing girl, while the married couple and their acquaintance defended her. The foreigners then called a friend who brought metal rods and two construction hammers. Consequently, the conflict escalated into a brawl. The four suspects attacked the victims, striking them on various parts of their bodies with rods and hammers. One of the suspects used a knife against the victims," the investigation reports.
Due to the stab wounds received, the 30-year-old man died on the spot, while the 27-year-old victim and his 25-year-old wife were taken to the hospital with various injuries. They are receiving necessary medical assistance. The suspects are currently in custody.
