Wagner Group Fighters Will Continue to Live and Work in Belarus, Lukashenko Says
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has announced that fighters from the Wagner group have not left Belarus but will continue to operate within the republic's territory. His statements were quoted by the BelTA news agency.
“And those pictures from space, where we are dismantling something… Why are we removing unnecessary tents? We don’t need them that much,” said the head of state.
He emphasized that all fighters will be here within a few days, with numbers reaching up to 10,000. The country’s leader explained the reduced presence of Wagner members in Belarus by stating that some have gone on vacation.
“As long as we need this unit, they will live and work with us,” he said. Lukashenko also noted that the core of Wagner will remain in Belarus.
