Establishment of the EAEU Common Gas Market is of Fundamental Importance, Says Pashinyan
The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are currently working on the St. Petersburg Declaration provided by Russia. This was stated today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the session of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council taking place in Tsaghkadzor.
“We are now focused on implementing the draft strategy for the EAEU's development for 2020-2025. The St. Petersburg Declaration is a very interesting project, and the postulates presented are acceptable. There is a positive attitude towards the project, but there are nuances that need to be discussed further. They relate to further economic integration, where the positions of member states differ slightly. I believe there is an opportunity to find specific solutions, and it is very good that all our partners are very positive about this,” emphasized Pashinyan.
He noted that the establishment of a common gas market and an energy market within the union is of fundamental importance. “Our common goal is to develop the economies of our member states and improve the living standards of our citizens,” declared the Armenian Prime Minister.
It is noteworthy that today an extraordinary meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is taking place in Tsaghkadzor with a face-to-face format. The agenda includes issues related to the further development of integration processes in the medium and long term within the EAEU.
