US Believes Prigozhin's Aircraft Was Shot Down by Ground-to-Air Missile from Russian Territory, Reuters

US officials believe that the aircraft of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner group, was shot down by a ground-to-air missile. This information was provided to Reuters by two American officials. According to them, the missile is presumed to have been launched from Russian territory. The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, emphasized that this information is still preliminary and being verified.

Earlier, the Gray Zone Telegram channel, associated with the Wagner group, reported that the plane might have been shot down by a missile. This version has also been examined by military experts.

CNN displayed radar images of the site where the business jet crashed. Based on this, the reporters concluded that the fuselage of the plane remained largely intact at the moment of impact with the ground.

On the evening of August 23, a business jet reportedly belonging to Yevgeny Prigozhin crashed in the Tver region. All 10 people aboard were killed in the crash. According to Rosaviatsiya, Prigozhin himself was among the victims. The investigative committee is conducting an investigation into the aviation accident under the articles related to the violation of traffic safety and air transport operation rules. RBC reported that various hypotheses are being studied.
