“This Must Be Stopped with International Intervention”: Edmond Marukyan

Armenia's special envoy Edmond Marukyan has stated that Azerbaijan is pursuing a classic policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh. Marukyan made this announcement on his microblog on X (formerly Twitter).

“Azerbaijan conducts a classic policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to our information, Baku is planning to unilaterally open the Lachin corridor to force the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh out of the region without any possibility of return. This is classic ethnic cleansing: first, they continuously shell, kill, and take people hostage, then subject them to prolonged hunger, and only after that open an exit route, so that due to these inhumane conditions, people leave Nagorno-Karabakh without a possibility of return. This must be stopped with international intervention,” Marukyan wrote, mentioning President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, French President Emmanuel Macron, President of the European Council Charles Michel, and the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in his post.
