"This is a very important event in our relations," says Pashinyan to Mishustin

Regional issues pose many challenges, and the authorities of the Republic of Armenia always discuss these matters with their Russian counterparts. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan after a bilateral meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ahead of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council session taking place in Tsaghkadzor.

“I am confident that we will address these issues today as well,” he emphasized.

He also thanked Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who had promised during their meeting in Sochi on June 8 that new traffic lanes would be opened for vehicles at Upper Lars, which has already occurred.

“This is a very important event in our relations. You know that there were multi-kilometer queues forming there. We are also grateful to our Georgian partners for this issue,” noted Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister also recalled that in 2022, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $5 billion, and this growth continues. Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope that this year's results would exceed last year's figures.

It is noteworthy that the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Russia reached $3 billion in the first half of 2023. This figure is 34.6% higher than during the same period in 2022.
