Denmark to Transfer 19 F-16 Aircraft to Ukraine

Denmark plans to transfer 19 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine, announced Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, Frederiksen expressed hope that the first six fighters would reach Kyiv by the New Year’s Eve. She noted that an additional eight aircraft are scheduled to be sent to Ukraine next year, with the remaining five expected in 2025.

On Sunday, Frederiksen met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and they visited an airbase in southern Denmark.

Earlier, Zelensky had visited the Netherlands, where he inspected two F-16 fighter jets at a base near Eindhoven with Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

It was previously reported that Danish authorities would be ready to transfer F-16 aircraft to Kyiv only after certain key conditions are met, particularly regarding logistical support issues. Denmark and the Netherlands had previously promised to provide F-16 aircraft to Kyiv.
