Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry Statement is Another Misinformation: Artsakh Defense Army

Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry reported that on August 19, around 16:00, military construction works were carried out by the Artsakh Defense Army in the Askeran region, which was allegedly prevented by the actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. This has been described as another piece of misinformation. The information was reported by the press service of the Artsakh Defense Ministry.

“It is evident that recently Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has been continuously spreading false news and presenting agricultural activities as engineering infrastructure at the contact line, attempting to justify the periodic fire opened by its units aimed at obstructing the grain harvest,” the statement reads.

It should be noted that yesterday, the Prime Minister of Artsakh, Gurgen Nersisyan, also stated that the Azerbaijani armed forces have been firing at the only wheat field in the Sarushen community of the Askeran region for several days, depriving residents of the opportunity to have bread.

It is recalled that on August 17, Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired twice at a harvester working in the fields of the Sarushen community. They also fired towards the wheat field on August 12, this time targeting working civilians. Shots were heard in the wheat field on August 9 as well. The gunfire damaged the front two doors of the “Ford Transit” vehicle driven by an individual involved in agricultural work.
