Ukrainian UAV Attacks Military Airport in Novgorod Region: Russian Defense Ministry
A Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacked a military airport located in the Novgorod region this morning. This information was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"Today, around 10:00 AM Moscow time, the Kyiv regime carried out a terrorist attack on the military airport in the Novgorod region using a Kupol-type UAV," the statement said.
It was noted that the drone was detected by the airport's external monitoring post and was shot down with small arms fire. Following the attack, there was a fire in the aircraft parking area, which was promptly extinguished by firefighting crews. One aircraft was damaged.
The ministry assured that there were no casualties as a result of the attack.
It is worth recalling that the Russian Defense Ministry reported that on August 18, around 04:00 AM Moscow time (05:00 AM Yerevan time), Kyiv attempted to conduct an attack on targets in Moscow and the Moscow region using a drone. According to the ministry, the Ukrainian drone changed its trajectory after coming under the influence of air defense systems and crashed into a non-residential building on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment in the capital.
