VIDEO: Fire Near Noragavit Cheese Factory Declared '1 BIS' Complexity Level

On August 18, at 19:16, the National Crisis Management Center received a report about a fire in the grassy area behind the cheese factory in the Noragavit neighborhood of Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.

Two firefighting teams from the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been dispatched to the site. A '1 BIS' complexity level has been declared for the fire, and an additional two firefighting teams along with the on-duty group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Department have also been sent to the scene.

According to Facebook user Bagrat Movsesyan, who also posted video footage, the fire broke out on the Artashat highway near the Noragavit cheese factory. “At this moment, firefighters are risking their lives to combat the spread of the fire; however, the wind is doing its dark work. The fire and smoke are visible from several kilometers away. According to photojournalist reports, the fire has spread in the waste of seedling greenhouses,” reports Shamshyan.com.
